Below the criminal underworld, our hero has seen the worst in humans, and he seemingly wants to do right by them and keep everyone focused on the beauty of life. Having a positive impact in a world that is in desperate need of it is a constant theme in Yakuza games. Kiryu straightens his posture and delivers a piece of advice about staying true to a vision. In one moment we could be in the middle of a street fight, only to find ourselves sat in a bar in the next – a whiskey in one hand, cigarette in the other, talking to a film director about the work of another. The Yakuza games, for all their gunfights and fisticuffs, constantly convey a line of positivity. Perhaps the game itself doesn't spell out this concept, but it gives players a place to feel at home, at peace, and create anything from outlandish castles for solo players to rattle around in, to sprawling villages made by a mum and her kids. It's an opportunity for play, to create anything your heart and mind can conceive. Minecraft is much more than an adventure story full of monsters and survival. Granted, you have to complete the game after perhaps hundreds of hours to see this poem, but one line manages to sum up the entire experience of this sandbox adventure – "What did this player dream?" If you cut through all the cheese and whimsy, there are a few lines that actually carry some emotional weight. One which, upon first creation was meant to be "over the top" on sentiment. When the credits finally roll on Minecraft, after beating the Ender Dragon, we're treated to a poem of sorts. ![]() Most of the credit goes for the art department of this game since it all depends on it being disturbingly cute, and they did a great job at that.Platform(s): PC, Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch It’s really easy and quick to beat, and it doesn’t present much of a challenge, not even with all the puzzles it has. Happy Game is an interesting little game, but it may just be too little, in the sense that it won’t last you very long. The art is really cute, and it is all over the place, so much that it will be too sweet and cute, which makes all the violence all the more grotesque. You know, the usual decapitation of bunnies all over the place and stuff like that. You’ll find cute fields full of flowers, but they’ll also be covered in blood. For the most part, the horror of this game relies on it is pretty bizarre. ![]() More often than not, creatures will try to come and kill you, and you’ll have to think fast and act even faster if you want to make it out alive. What I enjoy too is there’s a bit of lore hidden both in plain sight and in shadow, although you only really need to experience it once. It felt like just the right amount of length for me.
